Vickie Medford

Waynesville, Dominica Vickie Medford, age 60, of Miami Drive, passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at her residence. A native of the Philippines, she had been a resident in Haywood County for the past 25 years. Vickie was employed by Microtel Inn in Maggie Valley for 20 years. She was a member of St John's the Evangelist Catholic Church. Vickie enjoyed raising flowers, fishing and camping with her husband. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jaynes "J.R." Medford; two stepdaughters, Pamela Schillings of Candler and Shawn Surrett of Maggie Valley; a sister, 5 step grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 13, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Father Larry LoMonaco officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
