Vickie Hendrix

Waynesville, Vickie Lavonne Hendrix, age 65, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Linda Roberts Hendrix.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Hendrix.  Vickie was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church.  She enjoyed the people she met waitressing and working at Sylco but above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Vickie is survived by her two daughters, Heidi Hyatt, and her husband, Daniel and Haley Smith; two sisters, Donna Parton and Doris Haney, (Vick); four brothers, Roger Hendrix (Mary Ann), Neal Hendrix (Lani), Terry Hendrix and Steve Hendrix; six grandchildren, Kali, Abel, Phoebe, Lyric, Lake and Lyndon; one great-granddaughter, Nellie.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Allen’s Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Scotty Patrick officiating.  Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The care of Ms. Hendrix has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
