Timothy Fowler

September 5, 1954 — September 4, 2022

Clyde

Clyde, Timothy J. Fowler, 67, passed away peacefully at Haywood Regional Medical Center on September 4, 2022.

A native of South Euclid, Ohio, Tim moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1987. Five years later, he moved to Western North Carolina where he worked for 22 years for Indian Health Services. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eileen Fowler and brother, Brian Fowler.

Tim graduated from Kent State University and worked five years as a teacher’s assistant for teens with behavioral challenges and disabilities. He earned a Master’s Degree from John Carroll University and started his career in Adventure-Based Counseling. Tim loved to explore the natural wilderness and visited several National Parks across the country. He was an avid outdoorsman-there wasn’t an outdoor activity that Tim wouldn’t try or encourage others to attempt as well. He shared his experience with diverse populations of youth and adults both professionally and personally. After he retired from Federal Government service, Tim continued to work and spent the past few years providing respite care for Veterans. He felt honored to serve homebound U.S. Veterans and hear their military stories. Tim would want to express his appreciation to the staff of All Ways Caring Home Care for their support and dedication. His work gave him purpose in these last days of his life.

Tim is survived by his wife, Tracey P. Fowler, and son, Matthew R. Fowler. He spent his free time teaching Matthew his love for outdoor adventure. Nothing made Tim feel prouder than watching his son play soccer for 14 years. He also leaves behind his 93-year-old father, Albert “Bud” Fowler, siblings, Lynn (Karl) Kramp, Mike Fowler, David Fowler, and Ed (Cathy) Fowler. Tim was known as the ‘fun uncle’ and will be missed by his nieces and nephews.
