Thomas Ray Pressley

Canton– Thomas Ray Pressley, 97, born March 21, 1928, in Haywood County, N.C. passed away peacefully Went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 6, 2025. A resident of Haywood, NC, Ray served in the Navy for a few years as a Medical Corman. Ray then volunteered at North Canton Fire Department and then was employed at Champion International for 40 plus years, where he then retired.

Ray was a loyal member of North Canton Baptist Church for many years; he enjoyed antique cars. Ray loved to tinker and relish in all his hard work he had put into his 1929 A-Model Ford Car. Family time was very important to Ray, he especially enjoyed traveling; he and his sister, Dorothy would jump into their mobile homes and head out to anywhere in the country but most importantly, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family at Lake Fontana.

Ray was the son of the late Baxter Garland Pressley and Maida Rosalee Roberson Pressley. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Garland Baxter Pressley, sister Wilma Inavee Smith, sons David and Donnie Pressley, grandson Colby Lloyd Pressley, and his beloved wife of 64 wonderful years, Ruby Ivester Pressley who passed away in 2017.

Left to cherish his memory is sister Dorothy Minzenmayer (Arbie Roy). Great grandchildren Cayce Pressley, Carter Pressley and granddaughter in law Carla Pressley and many nieces and nephews.
