Thomas L. Burnette
Canton-Thomas "Lemmie" Burnette-80 of 195 Sonoma Road, died Tuesday January 7, 2003 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the son of the late Authur and Blanche Singleton Burnette. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eula Thompson and Lena Watson. He retired from Dayco after 40 years of service and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

He is survived by four nieces, two nephews and an aunt.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Pastor Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service. At other times, the family will be at the home of Denny and Becky Watson, 202 Sonoma Road, Canton, NC 28716.

Flowers would be appreciated or memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, 5868 Pigeon Road, Canton, NC 28716.
