Thomas Battle

Candler – Thomas Battle, 82, went home to his heavenly father on Friday, February 24, 2023. He was a native of Buncombe County, and the son of the late Willard and Margaret Jackson Battle.

Tom graduated from Enka High School and served the state of North Carolina for 31 years with the Highway Patrol. He advanced to the rank of Lieutenant. After retirement, he worked several years at Biltmore Forest Police Department. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, trout fishing, and reading.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Frankie Muse Battle; son, Tommy (Erica) of Candler; daughter, Lisa Brittian (T.G.) of Asheville; five grandchildren, Crissy Battle (Elijah), Christopher Brittian (Elisabeth), Kimberly Evans (Michael), Michael Brittian (Kerri); Thomas Battle,  and step grandson, William Claybroook (Emily); five great grandchildren, Sam Davis, Noah, Jude, Willow Evans, and Vera Battle.

Celebration of life will be held later.

The care of Mr. Battle has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
