Terry Lee Thomason

Canton, Terry Lee Thomason, 69, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Silver Bluff Nursing & Rehabilitation.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Ruby C. Trull Thomason.  Terry graduated from Northside High School in Warner Robbins, Georgia.  Following high school, he joined the United States Army and served as a medic during the Vietnam War.  Terry was employed by Champion Paper for over 20 years, retiring in 2019.  He lived in several states growing up, following his father’s military career.  Terry was a homebody, and those who knew him, saw his independence and stubborn streak.  He enjoyed working in his yard and flower beds and had a passion for cooking, especially stir fry and crock pot stews.  Terry was very close with his cousins and enjoyed hosting gatherings.  Terry loved his trusted cat companion, "Little Bit".

Terry is survived by his father, Cecil "Frank" Thomason; numerous cherished cousins; and one special aunt, Ruth Young.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Matt Pruett officiating.
