Terry Rathbone

Terry Wayne Rathone, age 58, of Niota, TN and formerly of Waynesville died Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, TN. He was the son of the late Amos and Mary Wilson Rathbone. He had lived in McMinn County, TN for the past 27 years and was retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority after 30 years of service. He, along with his wife, Betty, owned and operated the Tranquility Grocery in Athens, TN for 14 years. He was a member of Full Gospel Baptist Tabernacle in Canton, NC. In addition to his wife of 39 years, Brenda Hoglen Rathbone, he is survived by a daughter, Glenda Rathbone of Niota, TN; two sons, Mark Rathbone of Niota, TN and Robert Rathbone and his wife, Pam of Cleveland, TN; three sisters, Mable West of Canton, Martha Jones and her husband, Ira of Canton and Joyce Chastain and her husband, Johnny of Waynesville; one grandson, Austin Fitch and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services with the Reverend Johnny Chastain and Reverend Michael Chastain officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
