"Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather"

Waynesville, Terry Lee Edwards, age 66, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at his residence.

He was the son of Ruby Mills Edwards and the late Samuel Lanier Edwards. Terry was a 1970 graduate of Tuscola High School and attained his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting from Western Carolina University in 1976. He was a former employee of Dayco Corporation and at the time of his death he was the Inventory Control Manager with Haywood Vocational Opportunities where he had worked for 22 years. He loved being an AYSO soccer coach, playing golf and watching TarHeel Basketball. Terry enjoyed all sports and athletics. His family shared that he had a vast knowledge on all subjects and was "smarter than Google" and was a Mr. Fix it. Terry enjoyed being with his grandchildren and being outside especially at Lake Fontana. He loved giving boat tours at Lake Fontana, reading novels, newspapers and history books and going to the beach with his family. Terry accepted Jesus as his Savior in his youth and joined the United Methodist Church after his marriage.

In addition to his mother, Terry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann Noland Edwards; daughter, Anne Leland Edwards; son, Joseph Mack Edwards; sister, Rebecca Queen Chambers, and her husband Bruce, of Bethel; brothers, Ron Lanier Edwards, and his wife, Nanette, of Rutherfordton and Gary Lane Edwards, and his wife, Debbie, of Waynesville; three grandchildren who affectionally referred to Terry as "Papa", Jase and Abi Bleakley, and Ryan Mack Edwards; brother-in-law, Mark Thomas Noland, and his wife, Gail; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Wake Forest Medical Center, Dr. Dale Brown, and his staff, Century 21 Oncology. Haywood Regional Medical Center, Dr. John Stringfield and Haywood Hospice, especially RN's, Stephanie, Andrea and Carol.

A memorial reception honoring Terry's life will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Wells Events & Reception Center.
