Suzanne Banks Brantley was born March 9, 1940. She left this world on August 28, 2026. She was a gifted pianist, recording artist and arranger whose life was defined by her deep Christian faith, extraordinary music, and love for her family and friends.

Born to Allison and Sue Banks, In Broward County, Florida. Suzanne grew up alongside her brother, Brad Banks. A remarkable musical ability became evident early in life and eventually led her to study music in Mississippi, where she further developed the gift that would become such an important part of her life's work and ministry. She became deeply involved in church music and developed a reputation as an exceptionally gifted pianist and soloist.

Her first husband, Carl Arant, preceded her in death, then years later., the great love of her life came when she met and married. Charles J. Brantley. Suzanne and Charles seem truly made for one another. Their marriage brought Suzanne an incredibly happy and fulfilling chapter of her life filled with companionship, laughter, love, and the simple joy of life together.

Suzanne's love of music was much more than a personal passion. It was her ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allison and Sue Banks. Her brother, Brad Banks, her first husband Carl Arant and her beloved second husband Charles Brantley.

She is survived by her son Brett and daughter-in-law Natalie Brantley. Granddaughters, Molly-Catherine (Nicholas) Smith, Caroline Grace (Hamilton) Castle, Great Granddaughter Kitt Collins Castle, Granddaughter Anna - Braxton Brantley, and Sarah Elizabeth Brantley and her loving pet Seminole Sam Brantley, as well as her wonderful friends, all of whom she viewed as family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake City, FL under the direction of Ferreira Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation, 256 Industrial Park Drive, Ste B, Waynesville, NC 28786.

Through her recordings and published arrangements Suzanne's musical ministry reached churches, pianists and listeners across the country. Suzanne leaves behind a beautiful legacy of Faith, music, friendship, kindness and extraordinary love. A life truly lived "Near to the heart of God".

The care of Ms. Brantley has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
