Maggie Valley, NC-Sue Ellen Santucci, age 54, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2007 at her home. She was a native of Geneva, New York and moved to Port Charlotte, Florida where she lived for several years before moving to Maggie Valley. She was the daughter of the late Jane House Foster and Marvin C. Foster. Sue Ellen graduated with her Master's Degree from William and Mary College, fulfilling a lifelong dream by entering the field of Special Education. She taught first in Charlotte County, Florida then Cherokee, North Carolina. Her passion to teach allowed Sue Ellen to reach the hearts of many children over the last eleven years. She was loved by her students and colleagues for her zeal and creativity. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Sue Ellen was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Port Charlotte and enjoyed arts and craft shows, animals, reading, movies, the mountains and traveling, especially to St. Augustine, Florida. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband of five years, Don Santucci; one daughter, Michelle Toussant of Chesapeake, VA; one son, Rick Argus; three brothers, William Foster and his wife Cheryl, of Lenoir, NC, James Foster and his wife Cathy, of Pen Yan, NY, Gary Foster and his wife, Dawn of Geneva, NY and six grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Monday, January 8, 2007 at 4:30 p.m. in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with the Reverend Al Beck officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service. In lieu of cut flowers, the family has requested potted plants.
