Steven Murphey

Steven Ray Murphey, age 58, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his residence. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert Marion and Jean Marie Haynes Murphey. He was a United States Navy veteran during the Vietnam era. He is survived by a daughter, Rita Murphey of Clyde; a son, Kevin Murphey of VA; a sister, Jan Marie Walker of Jacksonville, FL; a brother, Richard Haynes Murphey of Jacksonville, FL; two nephews, Richard Haynes Murphey II, and Gary Hensley and his wife Holly and their daughter Emily, and four grandchildren, Cassidy Stepp, David Lundy, Shannon Tucker, and Alexis Murphey. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Clyde.
