Steve Chambers

Canton – Lawrence Stephen “Steve” Chambers, 71, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

Steve was a native of Haywood County and a son of the late Hubert and Phyllis Pomerleau Chambers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Anthony “Tony” Chambers.  Steve was a 1969 graduate of Pisgah High School and a member of Riverside Baptist Church.  He worked as a police dispatcher for 10 years.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery with the Reverend Steve Frazier officiating.

He is survived by a brother, Wayne L. Chambers of Enterprise, Alabama and a cousin, Donna Browning of Bethel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.

The care of Mr. Chambers has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
