Shirley Clark Ridenour

Shirley Ann Clark Ridenour, a beloved homemaker known for her nurturing spirit and deep love for her family and friends, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. She was born on July 28, 1936, in Granville County, North Carolina to the late James and Sabelia Cottrell Clark.  Shirley's vibrant personality touched the lives of many, as she not only raised her own children but also opened her heart to countless other children.

Throughout her life, Shirley dedicated herself to creating a warm and loving home for her family. Her passion as a homemaker shone brightly as she invested her time in raising her children and providing them with a solid foundation of love and support. Her caring nature created an environment where everyone who crossed her path felt welcomed and cherished.

Her family remembers her with great affection and cherishes the memories they shared together. The passing of Shirley is preceded by the loss of her son Donald Goss and grandson Justin Graham Goss. Their absence is felt deeply, yet their memories will forever remain alive within the hearts of their loved ones.

Shirley leaves behind a legacy built upon love and devotion. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Gary Ridenour, who provided constant support throughout their journey together. Together they weathered life's storms with unwavering strength and shared countless moments of joy and laughter.

In addition to Gary, Shirley is survived by their son, Michael Goss, and daughter, Jamie Petros. Shirley's legacy extends to four doting grandchildren: Rebecca Lynn Goss from Waynesville; Joshua David Goss from Charlotte; Gabriel Allen Goss from Pennsylvania; and Madeline Goss from Raleigh. These grandchildren carry forward the values instilled in them by their grandmother - values of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love.

Shirley's love extends to the next generation as well, with three great-grandchildren: Sophia and Scarlet Goss, and Krista Conard. Each one has felt the warmth of her embrace and will forever cherish the memories they shared with their great-grandmother. Shirley's love has even reached further to touch the life of her great-great-grandchild, Ava Johnson. Goss.

Although Shirley is no longer physically present, her impact on the lives of those she loved will never fade. She will be remembered as a beacon of love and kindness, always ready to extend a helping hand or offer words of comfort. Her family and friends find solace in knowing that Shirley's spirit lives on through each of them.

The loss of Shirley Clark Ridenour leaves a void that can never be filled. However, her legacy serves as a reminder to live life with open arms and a compassionate heart. She will forever be missed and always loved. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
