Shirley Ledford

Clyde, Shirley Elizabeth Green Ledford, age 65, of Messer Road, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Rachel James Green and was also preceded in death by her son, Wayne Ledford. Shirley was a loving wife and mother and was known for being an amazing cook. She also enjoyed crocheting and painting and was a member of Lower Fines Creek Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Johnny O. Ledford; one daughter, Crystal Ledford; two sisters, Neta Mae Rabb and her husband, Doc, of the Fines Creek Community and Mary Jane Everhart of Cherokee; and two brothers, L. J. Green and his wife, Evelyn, and Jim Green and his wife, Bobbie, all of Fines Creek. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery.
