Shirley Clark

Shirley Ashe Clark, age 69, of Burnette Street, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Haywood Regional Center. She was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Claude and Ruby Gant Ashe. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a niece. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Shirley loved spending time outdoors. When she was able, she enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Hartwell. She was also a painter. She is survived by a son, Keith Clark of Asheville; a daughter, Rhondia Riddle and her husband, Ronnie, of Canton; a sister, Jeanette Poston of Canton; three brothers, David Ashe and his wife, Doris, of Candler; Scott Ashe and Hugh "Kayo" Ashe and his wife, Rose, all of Canton; three grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy, and Joshua Riddle; six great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Roy W. Ingle of Canton. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Webb officiating. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Center Pigeon Baptist Church Cemetery.
