Shelia Goins

Canton- Shelia Ann Reece Goins, 54, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Shelia was a native of Buncombe County, and the daughter of Francis Queen Reece of Mount Airy and the late Lawson Pickney Reece. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Michael.  She worked with several area nursing homes as a caregiver.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 36 years, Roger Dean Goins; a daughter, Felicia Simons and her husband Danny Dale William Simons Jr.; two sisters, Vickie Eckenrod and Theresa Saunders; a brother, Dewayne Reece; and one grandson, Samuel Dean Simons, who she loved to watch grow up.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2020 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Norman Greene officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home..
