Shawn Roland

Shawn Kellie Roland, 24 of Arden passed away October 23, 2018 at home with her family. She was born in Asheville, NC on February 22, 1994. Her paternal grandfather, Russ Roland preceded her in death and she is survived by her parents, Bill and Pam Mulholland Roland, sister Katie, brother Rusty, her beloved son Kasey, her maternal grandparents, Bill and Evelyn Mulholland and paternal grandparents, Kay and Dewey Allen, and Dorothy Roland and several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

Shawn enjoyed going to the lake and spending time with her dad hiking, riding the jet ski and fishing and had many lake sleepovers with her family and her best friends.

She loved snow skiing from the age of 5 and went on trips with family and the Asheville Ski Club to Sugar Mountain, NC and Snowshoe, WV.

She played Youth softball and excelled in Youth, All Star competitive, Middle school and Varsity cheerleading.

She was the Number One Pit Crew Chief for her dad, helping him get ready for SCCA races and loved going to Road Atlanta to watch him race.

She enjoyed volunteering with the kids in the Progressive Education Program and thought she might pursue being a counselor one day.

She was extremely happy to become a mother and felt that was her greatest accomplishment.

Shawn lit up the room wherever she went. She will be so missed by her loved ones, her family and very large extended family and her many friends who love her still.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 17th at Skyland United Methodist Church, a Gathering and Celebration of Life will follow the service.
