Sharon Prescott

Sharon Celeste Prescott, 70, wife of Larry Prescott of Canton, NC, died November 28, 2021, at University Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Born in Bradenton, FL on February 3, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Effie Hayes.

A graduate of Berry College in Rome, GA, she earned her PhD from  https://olemiss.edu. Following retirement as teacher and reading specialist, she filled her time with grandchildren and lots of travel!

She loved the mountains, beach planting flowers and trees; she would be found planting something always.

She loved her family, church, and neighbors. She very involved in Bethel Baptist Church -BBC and Bethel Christian Academy - BCA tutoring young people in reading.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Larry Prescott, married December 22, 1972, and her children Seth (Abby) Prescott, and (John) Stephanie Charping.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany and Nate Weeks, Zachary, Bryan, Chandler, Ashlyn, and Macy Prescott of San Antonio, TX; and Rebekah, Hudson, Zane, and Ian Charping of Cordova, TN and her siblings, Lash (Janice), (Bob) Bonnie Johnson, Lucky (Michelle), Van , and Tami Hayes.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at BBC in Canton, NC. also live streamed  via BBC Facebook https://m.facebook.com/BethelBaptistCanton  Rev. Roy Kilby will officiate. The family will receive friends at Wells Funeral Home in Canton, NC from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. on Friday, December 10, 2021.
