Sharon Constance
Napp
Oct 18, 1951 — Oct 13, 2026
Maggie Valley
Sharon Constance Napp, 74, of Waynesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 18, 1951, to the late Leile and Constance (Kofoed) Napp.
Sharon grew up in Avon Lake, Ohio, where she graduated from high school before continuing her education at Western Michigan University. It was there that she earned her bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy and met Kris Connolly, with whom she would share many wonderful years and raise two beloved children. The couple married in Avon Lake and, following graduation, Sharon completed two internships, one of which took them to the East Coast. Their journey eventually led them to Southern California, where they welcomed their daughter, Lauren, followed by their son, Sean.
Although Sharon and Kris eventually went their separate ways, they maintained a close friendship and a shared devotion to their children. Throughout the years, Sharon and her family called several places home before returning to California, where they spent many cherished years together. In 2013, Sharon made the move to Waynesville, North Carolina, to be closer to her daughter, Lauren, who had relocated to the area for work.
Throughout her life, Sharon possessed a genuine desire to help others. Her career in occupational therapy reflected her compassionate nature and her commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around her. Following retirement, she discovered a new passion for healing arts , a practice that brought her great fulfillment and allowed her to continue caring for others.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sharon found her greatest happiness in the simple joys of life. She was a loving and devoted mother and was blessed with grandchildren whom she absolutely adored. Sharon was creative, she enjoyed painting, gardening, and surrounding herself with beautiful flowers.
Sharon's life was one marked by compassion, creativity, and a love for her family. Though she experienced the profound heartbreak of losing her beloved son, Sean, in 2011, the love she carried for her children remained an enduring part of who she was. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her gentle spirit, and the many ways she touched the lives of others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Dr. Lauren (James) March; grandson, Jameson March; former spouse, Kris Connolly; a brother, Robert Napp; a sister, Allison Napp; niece, Kristen (John Kundrach) Carapucci; great-nephew, Bene Kundrach.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
The care of Ms. Napp has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
