Waynesville, Thomas Scott McClure, 53, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2022, at Memorial Mission Hospital.
A native of Haywood County, Scott was the son of Tom and Wanda Rich McClure. Scott retired from Haywood Electric Membership Corporation as a Right-Away Coordinator, with 33 years of service. Scott was an outdoorsman, enjoying horseback riding, summer camping trips to Cataloochee, and fall camping trips to Smokemont with his brothers-in-law and nephews. He was an avid college football fan with the University of Tennessee being his favorite. Scott enjoyed helping his neighbor with projects. He was a committed family man and friend, whose heart was full of kindness.
In addition to his parents, Scott is survived by his wife of 22 years, Courtney McClure, of Clyde; his beloved daughter, Brooklyn McClure, and her boyfriend Tyrail Singleton, who Scott loved as his own, of Clyde; mother and father-in-law, Jerry and Linda Webb, of Waynesville; brother-in-law, Mark Webb, of Waynesville; nephews, Tyler and Caleb Webb; and several loved aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Scotty Patrick and Reverend Greg Cullen, and eulogies by Kathy Palmer and Mike Singleton. The family will be receiving friends following the service in the sanctuary.

The care of Mr. McClure has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes of Waynesville.
