Sarah Jane Reece

Candler, Sarah Jane Reeves Reece, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at her residence.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Larkin Reeves and Juanita Netherton Reeves; along with her parents, Sarah Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Murray, and three brothers, Jack, James, and John Reeves.  Sarah Jane’s career was in the healthcare industry as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  Favorite hobbies included collecting bells and candles, but Sarah Jane excelled in making a sport out of clipping coupons.

Sarah Jane is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Larry Dean Reece; her brother, Donald Reeves of Candler; and many nieces and nephews.  Also left to treasure Sarah Jane’s memory are her niece, Anita Murray, who they raised after her mother’s death, along with Anita’s children, Josh and Amie Hensley.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Reverend Brian Hanrahan officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior at Wells Chapel of Faith in Candler.

The family of Mrs. Reece would like to give special thanks to Rita, Shelley, and Amanda for taking such great care of Sarah Jane during her illness.

The care of Mrs. Reece has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
