Sara Morris

Waynesville, Sara Teasley Morris, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at The Homestead.

A native of Hart County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Mack Teasley and Rosetta Crump Cole. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hewin V. Morris, who died in 1977; two sisters, Mary Davenport and Betty Vickery; and one brother, George Teasley. Sara was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesville for the past 64 years where she sang in the church choir, the Prime Time choir and taught Sunday-School. She volunteered at Haywood Regional Medical Center, Haywood Christian Ministries and was a former den mother for the Cub Scouts. Sara loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles and showing family how to play board games.

Sara is survived by two sons, Bill Morris and his wife, Neese, of Waynesville and Richard Morris and his wife, Sheila, of Asheville; three grandchildren, Julie, Ryan and Daniel Morris; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Campbell Morris; and two great-great-grandchildren, Grey and Cora.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Robert M. Blackburn, Jr. officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel and Ryan Morris, Jeff Norris, Bill Vickery, Ashley Faircloth and Robert Graves. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
