Sam Jimison

Sam Wright Jimison, age 83, of 39 Dewey Avenue went home to be with Jesus on Friday, March 31, 2006 at Pisgah Manor Nursing Home. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the son of the late Sam and Hassie Wright Jimison. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Sherrill, Thomas, and Garrett Jimison and his twin brother, Tom Jimison. He retired from Champion International with 39 years of service and was a member of Mountain View Church of God. Sam loved his church, fishing and camping. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II serving in the Philippine Islands. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace Gaddis Jimison; two daughters, Ruth Ann Jimison Green of Enka and Doris Jimison Wiggins and her husband, R.C., of N. Augusta, SC; a brother, Claude Jimison of Canton and a grandson, Samuel Jason Wiggins. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2006 at Mountain View Church of God with the Reverend Herman Toney officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:45 until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
