Ruth Moore

Clyde – Ruth Marie Jones Moore, 89, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Ruth was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Chancy and Flora Jane Wines Jones.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Moore, who died in 1998; and a daughter, P K Mintz; two brothers; and four sisters.  Ruth worked at American Enka Corporation and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.  She loved sewing, crafts, and babysitting children, especially her grandchildren.  Ruth enjoyed assisting the elderly and was a 35-year cancer survivor.

She is survived by a daughter, Renne Messer (Wayne) of Clyde; two sons, Ronnie Moore (Janna) of Waynesville and Donnie Moore (Cindy) of Canton; three sisters, Carra Lee Haney of Clyde, Betty Arrington of Waynesville, and Sarah Hicks of Winston-Salem; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.  The burial will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Fincher’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
