Ruth Gunter

Waynesville, Ruth Creasman Gunter, age 77, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County she was a daughter of the late Crawford and Letha Burnett Creasman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester T. Gunter, who died in 2012; daughter, Denise Gunter; five sisters; and five brothers.  Ruth was a member of Mission Baptist Church and previously worked for Dayco Corporation for 20+ years.  She enjoyed volunteering, participating in church activities and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Karen Morgan; three sons, Gary Gunter (Karen Chandler), Kevin Gunter and Keith Gunter; four sisters, Dorothy Barnette, Betty Justice, Wilma Thompson and Janice Hadlock; twelve grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2020 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Gibson officiating.  Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

The care of Mrs. Gunter has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Homes.
