Ruth Moore

Clyde, Ruth Eudine Gillett Moore, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Haywood House.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Jewel Bryson Gillett.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L.J. Moore who died in 2019; two sisters-in-law, Florence Moore and Shelba Jean Taylor; two brothers-in-law, James Ferguson and Junior Taylor.  Ruth was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church where she was the treasurer for many years.  She retired from Haywood Community College after many years of service.  Ruth enjoyed working with her flowers and was L.J.’s support system.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Rhodes (Scott Murphy), of Huntersville, North Carolina; sister, Altha Rebeccca "RA" Ferguson, of the Rabbitskin Community; sister-in-law, Carolyn McClure (Jim), of Waynesville; brother-in-law, Reverend David Moore, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; two grandchildren, Sarah Finegan (Andrew) and Jacob Murphy; great-grandson, Aiden Finegan; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Dawn Memory Gardens with Reverend David Moore officiating.

The care of Mrs. Moore has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
