Ruth Bryson

Waynesville, Hilda "Ruth" Forga Bryson, age 78, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022 at her home.

A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late James and Hazel Morgan Forga.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her dear husband of 48 years, William "Ronnie" Bryson who died in 2006; two sisters and a brother.

Ruth enjoyed working with the public and was employed for many years at Rack Room Shoes and Macon Citizens Habilities, Inc.  A proud member of Sunny Point Baptist Church, Ruth enjoyed the tiny adventures of everyday life – cleaning her house, mowing the yard, and cooking tasty meals.  However, the activity she looked forward to the most and enjoyed more than anything else was spending time with her girls and all her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her beloved daughters, Ginger Ferguson (Kenneth) and Shelli Smith (Jeffery); sister, Joyce Cochran (Jim); sisters-in-law, Frances Cagle and Lynn McCoy; six grandchildren, Nathan Ferguson, Audrey Ferguson, Morgan Turner, Christopher Smith, Lucas Smith, and Frederick Davis; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; cousin, Bobbie Horne; and additional family member, Mallie Forney, who Ruth thought the world of.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Henson and Donnie Bryson officiating.  Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Ferguson, Jeffery Smith, Nathan Ferguson, Bryson Ferguson, Lucas Smith, and Joe Pandolfi and honorary pallbearers, Hudson and Christopher Smith.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Sunny Point Baptist Church Roofing Fund, 132 Sunny Point Drive, Canton, NC 28716.

The care of Mrs. Bryson has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
