Ruby Pressley

"1929 – 2017" Canton – Ruby Ivester Pressley, 87, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Ada Chapman Ivester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Donny and David Pressley; a grandson, Colby Pressley; one brother; and two sisters. Ruby was a licensed cosmetologist for 30+ years and was a member of North Canton Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Ray Pressley; one half-sister, Joan Belton of South Carolina; a brother-in-law, Grady Vanlandingham of Canton; two great-grandchildren, Cayce and Carter Pressley; two nieces, Kathy Pless and Tammy Hannah; two nephews, Jimmy Rhea and Michael Vanlandingham; and a good friend, Reba Stanley. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at North Canton Baptist Church with the Reverend Mark Caldwell and Reverend Zack Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to North Canton Baptist Church, 735 North Canton Road, Canton, NC 28716.
