Ruby Presnell Haynes

Waynesville, Ruby Presnell Haynes, age 84, entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

A native of Haywood County, Ruby was the daughter of the late Ernest Taft and Ethel Forester Presnell.  She is also preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Presnell along with two brothers, Hugh and Ernest Taft Presnell, Jr.

Ruby is a 1958 graduate of Fines Creek High School.  She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and attended Ninevah Baptist Church. 

Ruby loved bird watching, camping and most of all spending time with her family. Her passion was helping others in need.  She was a second mom and grandmother to many. 

Ruby is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Charles E. Haynes, and two daughters, Elaine Kirkpatrick (KP) and Charlene Yamroz (Larry).  Two sisters, Lela Brown and Betty Heatherly; one brother Rannel Presnell (Lorretta). Four grandchildren, Ricky Kirkpatrick, Christel Kirkpatrick McDowell (Cam), Kimberly Goodson Leatherwood, Samantha Mills, three great-grandchildren, Christian & Cami McDowell & Trinity Crawford, three step grandchildren, Kelly Bonin (Tim), Kristine & Kathy Yamroz, three step great-grandchildren, Evan & Katelyn Bonin & Matthew Yamroz.  She also leaves behind three God sons, Michael & Stevie Jones & Kenny Haney, One God daughter, Denise Haney Dodd, many nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Leslie officiating.  Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.   A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until service time.  

Following the burial the family will be at the home of Elaine Kirkpatrick, 86 Pioneer Drive, Waynesville, NC  28786.
