Roy Waldroop

Roy Carroll Waldroop, age 81, passed away on Friday, December 03, 2010 at The Oaks of Sweeten Creek. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Roy L. and Blanche Garland Waldroop. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda M. Waldroop, who died in 2005; a son, Michael Gary Waldroop, who died in 2009; and two sisters, Frances Whitaker and Lucille Akers. Carroll retired from Champion International as an electrician and was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church. He is survived by two sons, Enos Carroll Waldroop of Leicester, and David Earl Myrick, Jr. of Candler; a daughter-in-law, Annette Waldroop of Woodfin; one granddaughter, Ariel Leigh Waldroop of Woodfin; a special friend, Emily Crisp of Canton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with Father Timothy P. McRee officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of the arrangements.
