Roy Royea

Waynesville, Orval Kenneth "Roy" Royea, age 95, of Hamer Avenue, died on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at his residence. A native of Bessemer, Michigan, he resided in Miami, Florida until his retirement, then split his time between Haywood County and Florida. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Mary Fountain Royea and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was employed by the Clerk of Court in Miami, Florida. Roy had a special zest for life and was very young at heart. He is survived by his caregiver and friend, Roger Whitner, of Waynesville; three nephews, John, Roy, and Jim Contratto; and many great nieces and nephews. A private burial was held at Green Hill Cemetery.
