Roy Messer

Roy C. Messer Waynesville-Roy C. Messer, 51 of Silo Ridge Road died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at the Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Manson and Lucille Putnam Messer and was also preceded in death by a sister, Christine Messer Ford. He was employed by Blue Ridge Papers and was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Messer Singletary and her husband, Charles of Waynesville, a son Timothy Messer and his wife, Kelli of Waynesville, three brothers, Gene Messer of Clyde and Clarence "Buck" and Manson Messer, Jr. both of Waynesville and a grandson, Tyler Messer. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23rd in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with the Reverends Tom Shook and Darrell Webb officiating. Entombment will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Justin, Nathan and Brett Messer, Gene Hill, Jeff Reno and Charlie Creaman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence. Funeral services will be held in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremation Services.
