Ronnie Jones, Sr.

William Ronald "Ronnie" Jones, Sr., age 63, passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Candler and the Canton area, he was a son of the late William Posey and Caroline Sharp Jones. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Williams; one granddaughter, Leanne Chitwood; and one great-grandson, Brent Buchanan. Ronnie was well known in the surrounding counties for quality horse shoeing. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Lou Gibson Jones; one son, Ronnie Jones, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Candler; two daughters, Lynn Buchanan and her husband, Steve, of Candler, and Mary Chitwood and her husband, David, of Waterloo, South Carolina; three sisters, Barbara Banks of Candler, Susie Gillespie and Matilda Putnam both of Canton; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Burial will follow at Clark Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
