Roger "Keith" Carter, born on April 15, 1957, in Buncombe, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at Pisgah Manor. With a heart full of humor and a spirit dedicated to his community, Keith touched the lives of many during his 39 years of service at G.E. Lighting systems. His commitment to work was matched only by his faith, as he served faithfully as a custodian and Deacon at Malvern Hills Presbyterian Church (PCA).
Keith was known for his remarkable sense of humor, often sharing laughter with those around him. He had a particular fondness for the classic cartoons on television, where his laughter would resonate and bring joy to those in his company. A hard worker and dedicated community member, Keith balanced his professional life with his passion for fishing and deer hunting, pursuits that brought him immense joy.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 41 years, Jeanne Davidson Carter, and their son, Daniel Keith Carter. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Emmajean Radford; brother Dewayne Carter; and brother-in-law, Charles Davidson and wife Bonita, who will each carry cherished memories of their time together.
Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Carveth G. Carter and Violet King Carter; brother, Paul Carter, and his brother-in-law, Jack Radford. The legacy of Keith Carter lives on through the love and laughter he shared, ensuring that his spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23rd at Malvern Hills Presbyterian (PCA) in Asheville. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
The care of Roger “Keith” Carter has been entrusted by the family to Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
