Formerly of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Robert James Manga, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation in North Carolina.
A native of Tarentum, Pennsylvania and later resident of Hanover, PA and Waynesville, NC, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary Durian Manga. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Manga who died in 1988; his second wife, Dottie Manga who died in 2010; and his five siblings, Joe Manga, John Manga, Elizabeth Manga, Sister Mary Manga, and Irene Lucas.
Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his service, he worked for many years as a bridge superintendent with Mekis & Sons Construction in Pennsylvania. He was a devoted Catholic and was an active member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Tarentum, PA and Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Natrona Heights, PA. Bob was a jack of all trades who was skilled in carpentry, wood working, and being a Master Gardener. He also enjoyed the challenge of mushroom hunting. Bob was an attentive grandfather who regularly visited his grandkids in the winter in Hanover.
Bob is survived by his three sons, Gregory Manga (Marcia), Bob Manga (Bonnie), and Chris Manga (Jil); five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is planned for Spring 2023.

The care of Mr. Manga has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
