Robert Wright

Waynesville-Robert Hugh "Bob" Wright, 83, of 138 Short Street, died on Monday, May 28, 2007 at Chestnut Park Retirement Center. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Hugh Leonard and Margaret Hipps Wright. Bob was a retired US Air Force veteran of World War II having received the Purple Heart and Presidential Unit Citation. He later worked at Turner & Sons Clothing store for 10 years and was a member of Barbersville Baptist Church. He is survived by one sister, Nina Chafin, of Waynesville; two nephews, Ted Caldwell of Estill Springs, TN and Miles Chafin and his wife, Pat, of Ashdown, AK; and one niece, Elaine Madison and her husband, James, of Virginia Beach, VA. Graveside services will be held at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007 with Reverend G.W. Jameson officiating. The family will receive friends from Noon until 1:30 p.m. prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
