Robert Reece

Robert Roy Reece, age 80, died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Joseph Howard and Mollie Chambers Reece. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Jerry, and Louie Reece. Roy was a life-long farmer and coon hunter and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He retired from Dayco in 1984 with 38 years of service, was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maxine Johnson Reece; one son, Keith Reece and his wife, Sandy, of Canton; three daughters, Kathy Warren and her husband Alan, Anita Mills and her husband, Sam, and Mary Phillips and her husband, Barry, all of Waynesville; one sister, Sarah Mease and her husband, Guy, of Canton; seven grandchildren, Travis and Andrew Warren, Amber Moran, Jennifer Ashe, Molly Reece, Tiffany Mills, and Adam Phillips and five great-grandchildren, Joey, Jacob, and Faith Ashe, Lydia Warren and Lily Warren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Riverside Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Odom and Reverend Jesse Hollingsworth officiating. Burial will follow at the Reece Family Cemetery adjoining Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
