"Loving Husband, Father & Grandfather"

Clyde, Robert Lee Putnam, 72, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Lula Lusk Burnette and step-father, Frank Burnette; five sisters and three brothers. Robert was the owner of Waynesville Body Shop and attended Pinnacle Baptist Church. Robert loved being with his family. He loved fishing, hunting and playing cards. Robert coached many sports that his children participated in and was highly involved throughout their childhood. He was humble, kind and a generous man who will be greatly missed.

Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Putnam; daughter, Tina Hyatt, of Knoxville, Tennessee; son, Jeremy Putnam, of Asheville; sister, Virgie Head, of Canton; grandchild, Peyton Hyatt, of Knoxville.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dennis Queen and Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
