Robert Owen, Jr.

Waynesville, Robert Davis "Bobby" Owen, Jr., age 69, of Boyd Avenue, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Robert Davis Owen. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam Era and a retired truck driver for the Dayco Corporation. He is survived by his mother, Wilma Sutton Owen Lindsay and her husband, James Fred Lindsay of Waynesville; one daughter, Michele Wallen and her husband, Brett, of Shelby; one sister, Mary Owen of Waynesville; one brother, Jerry Owen and his wife, Deana, of Waynesville; and one grandchild, Rainey Wallen. Private graveside services was held at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain with military graveside rites performed by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
