Robert Gentry

Maggie Valley, Robert Lee Gentry, age 75, of Deer Run Road, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Mission Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Fred and Martha Ledford Gentry. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Gentry and a brother, Jack Gentry. Robert was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a former maintenance employee for Haywood County. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Phyllis Lambert; two sisters, Mary Jo Price and her husband, J.D., of Waynesville and Jimmie Whitner of the Bethel Community; a special great niece, Kaitlyn Sellers; and other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
