Robert Carver

Maggie Valley, Robert Lee "RL" Carver, 74, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at his home. A native of Haywood County he was the son of the late Dewey and Grace Craig Carver. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Patsy Wyatt and a brother, Allen Ray Carver. He was the co-owner of Maggie Valley Restaurant since 1963 and retired from Champion Paper after 43 years of service. Robert was a member of Maggie Valley Methodist Church. He loved to work and deer hunt, and hang out at the store. Robert was known to be a "Jack of All Trades". Robert is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Mease Carver; three sons, Heath Carver, of Waynesville, Justin Carver, and his wife, Amy, of Clyde and Chase Carver, of Lake Junaluska; one sister, Mourriene Howell, of Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, James Carver, of Maggie Valley and Rick Carver, of Bethel; four grandchildren, Heather, Jake, Josie and Hudsyn Carver. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Maggie Valley United Methodist Church with Reverend Erma Bond officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Maggie Valley United Methodist Church, P.O.
