Robert Augur

Lt Col Robert E. Augur, 91, of Asheville, passed away December 20, 2013 at North Carolina State Veterans Homes. He was the son of the late Lorraine and Marion Davis Augur. He is preceded in death by his two wives, Eleanor Lois Grant Augur and Leona Augur Morreau Augur and one sister, Elaine Augur Olson.

Robert is survived by his three sons, Charles A. (Rosemary), Robert E. Jr (Marion), and Richard G. (Rhonda); five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a niece, Sandra O'Connor.

Robert retired as a Lt. Col. in the U.S. Air Force serving as a pilot and pilot instructor during WWII and the Koran War. He supported the Civil Air Patrol.

A Funeral Service will be held TODAY, December 23rd at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Faith, Moore Funeral Home at Forest Lawn with Chaplain Arthur Slagle officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private at the V.A. Cemetery in Black Mountain.
