Richard (Rick) Fowler

Waynesville, Rick Fowler, 65, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at his residence.

A native of Henderson County, he was residing in Haywood County at his passing.  Rick was the son of the late William and Annie Winkleman Fowler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Fowler.  Rick proudly served his country in the Navy.  He worked in the maintenance department of the Best Western Hotel. Rick was always there when you needed him to be.  He was a hard worker and helped whenever and wherever he could.  Rick enjoyed fishing, loved football, and was a big Nascar fan. He was of the Christian faith.

Rick is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie Fowler; four daughters, Elizabeth Rockwood (Paul), Jennifer Caulder, Kathy Franklin (Andy), and Rickie Fowler; a brother Doug Fowler (Louise); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  There was also his dog, Tanner, that he fondly referred to as his son.

The care of Mr. Fowler has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville
