Richard Dean "Dick" Clark

Richard Dean "Dick" Clark, son of the late James R. and Norma Jean Marsh Clark, was born on August 22, 1948, in Norfolk, Nebraska. He passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

Dick was a man of great character and honor. He served his country with unwavering dedication as a United States Air Force veteran and bravely fought in Vietnam. His commitment to his fellow servicemen and his country was truly admirable.  Beyond his military service, Dick embraced life with enthusiasm and positivity. He had a natural ability to bring joy to those around him and possessed an infectious energy that could light up any room.

Left to cherish Dick's memory is his beloved companion of 30 years, Barbara Anne Thompson Smathers, of Canton.  She brought immense joy and love into his life.  He is survived by one son, Brian Clark, of Nebraska; two sisters: Julie Miller and Joni Miller, both residing in Nebraska; and two brothers: Dennis Clark of Arizona and Mark Miller of Nebraska.

Services will be held at a later date.

Dick's departure from this world leaves behind a void that can never be filled. However, the impact he made on the lives he touched will continue to resonate for eternity.  As we bid farewell to Dick, let us celebrate his incredible life. May his legacy live on in our hearts and may we always remember the joy he brought to all of us. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
