Brevard – Reverend Ronnie Dale Jenkins, 65, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019 at his residence.
A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Ralph and Dorothy “Dot” Mull Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Worley Jenkins, who passed in 2014 and one brother, Bobby Jenkins. Ronnie owned and operated Heavens Light & Bolt for three years and was a member of Old Pathway Baptist Church. He loved his children, wife, Hot Rods and the Beatles. Ronnie was a devoted Pastor to several churches for 22 years, Laurel Grove Baptist Church, Welcome Hill Baptist Church, and Waynesville Free Methodist Church. As a pastor and friend, Ronnie was always a phone call away. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. Ronnie’s interest included drums, clock making and making crafts.
He is survived by his wife of four years, Glady Jenkins; two daughters, Amber Brinson (Joshua) and Charity Harris (Steve); one son, Shane Henry (Michael) all of Canton; one sister, Debrayda Radford (Bim) of Dallas, North Carolina; two brothers, Larry Jenkins (Becky) of Mill Spring, North Carolina and Dickie Jenkins (Doris) of Gastonia; and four grandchildren, Slade Harris, Nicolas and Joshua Parton and Elijah Columbo.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Billy Ferguson, Reverend Kenneth Jenkins, and Reverend Tommy Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.
