Reverend E. Keith Clark

November 15, 1942 — June 1, 2025

Canton

Reverend Keith Clark, 82, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025, in the comfort of his home. He was born on November 15, 1942, to the late Edgar and Geneva Clark. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy C. Wourms, and brother Terry Clark.

Keith graduated from Canton High School in 196l. During his time there, he showcased his athletic talent as a football player, laying the foundation for a life of dedication and passion. He and Linda spent 4 years at Broyhill Children’s Home as houseparents before moving to Boone, NC. While in Boone, he began pastoring and enrolled in Fruitland Bible Institute, where he served 7 Baptist churches in Watauga, Macon, Clay, Cherokee, and Haywood Counties.

Keith loved camping, trout fishing, and was an avid bowler. He loved watching his grandchildren play soccer, football, baseball, and volleyball. His greatest hobby, however, was his orchard that he maintained around his house. He carefully tended that orchard from January until the last apple was picked in the fall. Keith was a familiar face at the Historic Haywood County Farmers’ Market, that he attended on Saturdays. He drew great joy in giving apples away to the children who came to the market.

He is survived by his loving, wife of 65 years Linda Whitted Clark; daughters, Jenny Williams (Clark) and Susan Davis (Jim); sister, Eleen Mitchell (Roger); grandchildren, Celeste Ybanez (Kerry), Cameron Davis and Bryson Davis; great-grandson, Arthur Ybanez; step-grandchildren, Zachary Williams (Amanda) and Dylan Williams (Sarah); step-great-grandchildren, Ellis, Emery, Ensley, Kennedy, Chloe, Aidan, Gwynevire, and step- great-great- grandchild on the way in July.

A Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at Canton First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Canton- First. Interment will follow the service at New Bon-A-Venture Cemetery in Canton.
