With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Regina “Jenny” Fox, who went home to be with the Lord on February 26, 2026, at the age of 72. She passed leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion that will live on for generations.
Born on August 20, 1953, in Asheville, North Carolina to the late Leonard DeOwen Lackey and JoAnn Harding Lackey; Jenny was, above all, a devout godly woman. Her faith was the foundation of her life and the guiding light in every season. She trusted the Lord in times of joy and in times of trial, and she reflected His love through her kindness, gentleness, and steadfast spirit. Her Bible was well worn, her prayers were constant, and her heart was always open to those in need. She will be remembered for her gracious and loving spirit, her servant’s heart, and her unwavering faith. She taught her family not only through words, but by example; showing what it means to love sacrificially and trust God fully.
Jenny is survived by her daughters, Marcy Wike (Paul) and Kristy Brooks (Tommy); her six grandchildren, Ashley, Emily, Sarah, Tyler, Keith, and Lily; her two great-grandchildren, Mylo and Ayven; her seven loving siblings, Debbie Austin (Bill), DeeAnn Henson (Mark), Sonia Parker (Harold), Lisa Styles (Jimmy), Lenny Lackey, Jeffery Lackey, and Jennifer Griffith; and her sisters-in-law, Donna Lefler, Joyce Reese and Lori Fox. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Gordon Fox.
Jenny held her family close to her heart and found immense joy and purpose in being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to the many people who knew and loved her. Though we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise she held dear. Her life was a testimony to God’s goodness, and we celebrate the assurance that she now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Gordon.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2026, at 2:00 pm located at Reynolds Baptist Church with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm. Burial follow at Ashlawn Gardens of Memory in Weaverville, North Carolina.
In memory of Jenny, donations may be made to Reynolds Baptist Church at 520 Rose Hill Rd, Asheville, NC 28803.
The care of Regina Fox has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Canton and an online memorial register is available at "Obituaries" at www.wellsfuneralhome.com.
