Waynesville, Rebecca Jane Dills, age 58, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her home.
A native of Haywood County she was the daughter of the late Reverend Robert L. and Evelyn Inman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Bowles, Brenda Burnette and Mary Inman; brother, Mark Inman; brother-in-law, James H. Messer; sister-in-law, Sherrie Sherrill; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Dills; nieces, Stephanie Moore, Amy Inman, Candida Moody and Anjana Harkins. Jane was the activity director for Maggie Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation since 2011 and was a member of Jonathan Valley Baptist Church. For over 22 years, Jane traveled and sang with the Inman Sisters. She was an amazing composer, keyboardist, who also played the guitar and fiddle. Jane's love for the Lord started at a very young age while attending Camp Branch Freewill Baptist Church. She also met her soulmate, husband and manager of 43 years, Michael, at her church. Jane was the life of the party, full of compassion and love for everyone she encountered. Whenever she needed some energy for the road, she loved sokins, pinto beans and biscuits. Jane left a legacy of faith, love, laughter and song. She will forever be in our hearts.
Jane is survived by her husband of 43 years, Michael Dills; daughter, Keisha Ball (Rodney) of Clyde; Michael Dills II (Rebecca) of Denver, Colorado; sisters, Kathy Messer, of Waynesville, Dorothy Seiler (Frank) of Stokesdale, North Carolina, Wilma Green (Kenneth), of Canton, Alice James (Larry) of Clyde, twin, Judy Caldwell (Darrell) of Waynesville; brother William Inman (Debbie), of Leicester; father-in-law, Troy Dills; sister-in-law, Brenda Silvers (Keith) of Clyde; seven grandchildren, Austyn, Dren, Jayce, Quintyn, Cash, Luke and Méa; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Jonathan Valley Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Downs, Reverend Billy Ferguson and Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
