Raymond Farmer

Waynesville – Raymond Lewis Farmer, 88, passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his residence.

Raymond was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late David and Lovie Revis Farmer.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Rogers Farmer, who died in 2021; a daughter, Donna Ann Farmer; and son, Gary Lynn Farmer.  Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, watching dog races, playing cards, bingo, and carrom games.  He worked at Champion International for 35 years as a foreman and was also a wonderful father and grandfather.

He is survived by a son, Ronnie Alton Farmer and wife, Kathy, of Clyde; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Vincent Farmer, Tracy Laynn Swallows, Beth Ann Hill, Michael David Farmer, Jennifer Farmer, Glenn Allen Allison, William Tyler Lee Allison; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service was held.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Haywood Hospice and Palliative Care along with Stephanie Kirton Arvey, RN and Sherri, CNA.
